Its been a while.

Its been a while since i have posted anything,as you will see with the pictures this little thug has kept me busy,this is Rex he is the latest addition to the family he came to live with me as a friend's daughter bought him then became ill and could not keep him,my other dogs get on well with him,its just taking a bit longer to train him as he very willfull,but if you take a dog on you have to put all the hard work to make it work.Germand shepherds take longer to train you seem to take 1 step forward and 2 back,he is a devil for the cats he loves to chase them,he has been scratched and told off so many times ,we will get there one day with him it just takes time, i do love him to bits he acts just like a naughty child. I had to include these pictures of my bargain flowers i bought from tescos they were 50p for 6 bunches i was so pleased,i love flowers they lasted for 2 weeks so that was a great bargain.

There has been lots of celebrations this summer,it was my friends birthday,the cake was made by her niece, she bought the cake tin from Lakeland.Then its was Ruby's 3rd burthday,this is Ruby with her big sister,so that was another party to go to and more cake and tea.

Of course a summer wedding to attend,the bride and friends did a lot of work making lots of little gifts for the table and favours for the guests,Bev had a heart theme for the wedding,there were heart tea lights,home made toffee hearts in little bags,the bride and bridemaids had little heart diamond slides in their hair and even little diamond hearts in her bouquet.The sun shone, every thing went to plan it was a great day.

The wedding cake heart shaped of course even had her 2 cats on the cake Bev loves her kitties so felt they had to be included.

And of course my blog would not be complete with out a picture of my handsome grandson,he will be 3 on the 1st of October he goes to school nursery after October,where does the time go to.So another party to go to.Well thats all my news for now hopefully i will not be a way for so long.I have been reading everyones blogs and picking up on all tips on books to read and cakes and meals to cook.Take Care~Kate~

Happy New Year to you all in blogland,i have been a bad blogger but hopefully this year i will be good and post at least once a week.I know i am late with my christmas pictures but here are a few of some of my favourite christmas goodies,this santa and reindeer were from Au Natural a few years ago for 50p each and the sledge was from the Pier the card came from the states.

This is a picture taken nearly 3 weeks ago of my old collie Rollo as you can see she is not to happy bless her the other dogs were rolling about out of shot and enjoying themselves.

This is Tykee who is always up high somewhere she shouldn't be next to my Heartwoodcreek nativity scene i love heartwood creek they make lots of different santas snowmen and animals even walt disney items,i will post pictures later of my collection,the pictures are folk art christmas cards.

This picture was taken the Tuesday before christmas,my daughter-in-law got stuck in a bad traffic jam because of the snow after taking my son to work so she popped in for breakfast and stopped with me for a couple of hours until the snow stopped and its been like this ever since, i am managing to get out with my sons trusty escort and it holds the roads really well.

This was after it had stopped snowing as you can see there was a lot,then the next few days it became so icy it was lethal to walk on,but we have made it so far with no injuries.Thats all for now but i will post a few pictures of my christmas presents.I also have been having computer problems i.e my last one crashing then changing to windows vista and my service providor driving me and my daughter-in-law mad with instructions,but i am up and running and finding my way with the laptop.Hope everyone in blogland is keeping safe with the snow .~Take Care Kate~

50th Birthday Party

Hi.I have been a bad blogger neglecting my blog not good enough,time ust seems to run away and before you know it a couple of months have passed,so lets up date with whats been going on. This is my daughter-in-law with my handsome grandson Ellis i held a 50th birthday party for my best friend,we popped up a few gazebos as we thought it would be raining and it was all morning until everyone arrived at 3p.m and then the sun came out for the rest of the day and no one used them but at least they were there.Almost every one of the 60 people adults and children came so it was a real family day and every one seem to have fun.The food was a joint effort between a few of us so the made it less stressfull.

This is Ellis trying to remember how to do the sack race, his Dad helped him with the last one.they did cheat a little but i don't think anyone minded.

This is just a few of Hazel's friends,the others were on the lawn joining in a little sports day for the kids but a lot of the adults joined in as well.

My daughter-in-law made the cake for Hazel,Hazel just loves tennis during the 2 weeks of Wibledon you never get a word out of her as she is glued to the t.v,next year we are hoping to visit my brother who stays just outside London and try and watch a game,so fingers cro This was the gazebos all set up but no one used them until the end of the day.

This is my friend Hazel on the left my self in the middle and Hazel's sister Jen.I used to look after Jen when she was a baby i always loved babies while i was growing up.

This is Hazel and Jen this was supposed to be at the start of the blog,so you can see i am out of practice.Hope to get back to blogging more often,i still love to read everyones blogs and keep up with you all.My next post will be on my 20years service with the practice,so keep an eye open.~take care~Kate~

Busy.Busy.

Sorry for lack of posts,but i have been so busy looking after my mum who had a bad fall a broke her ribs,then a bad chest infection,she is now on the mend thank goodness and i think this lovely sunshine is helping.Also what spare time i do have i love to spend as much time with this handsome little boy, i can't beleive he will be 2 soon he is such a joy to spend time with, he loves to walk and be outdoors what ever the weather,he is just starting to say lots of words and he enjoys looking at his books i love reading to him.

For the past couple of weeks the car boot sale has not been good but last week it was great,i bought this table for a couple of pounds hopefully if the weather stays dry i will get it painted.The orange cake tins were 50p the red cake tin was a £1 and the little kitchen utensils were 30p for the lot.

Of course i can never come home without books,again they were 30p 10p and 50p,the chicken cookbook is going south to my brother and his wife,every time i ask what he is having for tea or dinner its usually chicken or salmon so i am always on the lookout for these sort of books.It looks like its going to be another warm and sunny day here in the North East so Sundays car boot sale should be a good one,fingers crossed.

Here are a few more bargains from last week,the beads are going to my friend who makes her own jewellery,again every thing was between 30pfor the bells 50p -£2 for the jewellery the cd /radio again was £2.00.I also bought a huge bag of tennis balls for the dogs.

And yet more books,all Enid Blyton they were 10p each.So all in all a great haul.Lets hope tomorrow will be as good,i am now of to watch the final of Britains got Talent.Hope you all have a great weekend.~Kate~

Braided Rug and Car Boot Finds

Was in Tescos last night and came across this pink braided rug for £5.99 and i thought i have to have this,i came home and checked out the latest catalogue to see if they came in different colours bad sadly no,they did have girls red checked bedding its so sweet check it out.

This is my latest addition a cross silkie cockerel he has settled in well with the girls,he came free from our local ads paper.One of the girls is moulting so not laying as well but hopefully it will be back to 2 a day soon.

My rhubarb is growing quite well ,its always late in the North East,i love to make jam and crumbles,but this year i am hoping to find news ways with the rhubarb so any recipes would be welcome.

On mothers day i recieved flowers cards and this recipe book,we usually go out but my mum has had a bad fall and cracked her ribs so my time has been taken up looking after her,today she came for a visit but i had to take her home after lunchtime i think it was maybe just a little to early for her to be out and about.

And of course on Sunday it was my happy day bargain hunting, and look at these goodies,the baskets were £2.00 and the picture 50p, i had to try and be good but as you will see by the next few pictures i was not.

My friend who was with me egged me on to buy this lovely hand bag for £3.oo.The next 2 items i didn't need much encouragement as you will see i just love baskets the older the better,the first one is for the cats and the other is a childrens cycle basket,my excuse is its for Ellis,(honest Diane).

The garden is being prepared for potatoes and vegetables,so i will keep you all up to date on how its going.Well thats all for today,hope everyone is enjoying the spring sunshine.~Kate~

A Few pictures of my car boot finds and ginger boy

This is my ginger boy,you can usually find him here every morning after he has been out all night he comes in has his breakfast then he sleeps there following the sun along the top of the sofa,then he has his supper and away out for the night,this is just one of my cats i must try and take pictures of the rest of them.He is a great hunter and is never far from the house his only fault is he is not to keen on my neighbours cat but i think Sooty feels the same.

The car boot sale has started to become really good again for bargains.I bought the herb pot for £1 some of the glaze is missing but i thought once there is plants in it know one would notice it.The metal pail and the chicken grain ladle was £2 i have been looking for one of these for awhile now,my friends laugh at me i keep telling them if you look hard enough each week it will be there,i overheard a lady saying to her friend there is everything to found here even the kitchen sink and i looked round and there was one so we started to laugh and they were right.

The old mixing bowl was £1.50 and the blue/white enamel pie dish was 50p and the pressure cooker was a find at £3.50 i have just started to use the pressure cooker again as it saves so much time and money,i bought one new from Argos at christmas time and it was not cheap,so i am glad to have came across this one it is in good condition.

This ottoman was £3.50 i passed it 3 times and i thought if it is still there when i go back it is comming home with me, and this bolster was another find it was £4.00 the lady selling it had loads and loads of lovely fresh linen,towels tablecloths,and bedding but by this time my purse was empty.

I know what you must be thinking sledges,but they were only £1 each when it snowed the shops were sold out and the ones you could buy were expensive so better to be prepared i say.My friend asked me to look out for a basket for the kids toys again they were £2.00 each then a bag of wool.Soi had a great day on Sunday and everything was a bargain.The chickens are laying well i am hoping to buy a few more this weekend.A friend has asked if they could plant potatoes in my garden as they don't have space,they will share the harvest with me i am just pleased to see the ground used,i just wish i had more time for the garden as the soil is really good for all vegetables,hopefully my fruits trees i have bought will bare fruit this year so i will keep you posted.Hope you are all having a good week so far.Take care~Kate~

Good Start To The Week So Far.

My week started of really well, i had a good day at the car boot sale my first visit this year on Sunday.Monday i was given this sweet hen house with a run and 2 hens.They have been good girls laid 2 eggs every day since they have arrived,they will have to stay in a run as i have foxes that are around most days, i have let my hens out before and mr fox has had his tea,so they will have to be kept in a secure run.

The heart wreath with chickens and small heart i found at my local garden centre along with this heart plant stake.

This is a couple of my finds at the car boot sale on Sunday,a noahs ark and shapes to go on a fridge, my little grandson will love these.

Today my Home Farmer magazine arrived , its full of ideas for gardeners,allotment holders,small farmers.chicken lovers, cooks and full of household tips ,its well worth a look.

And heres the eggs the girls laid,a cheese dish from a charity shop and a fabric chicken that was a present for last years birthday.As you can see i really do love chickens,i could do a whole posting on chickens all shapes and sizes.I picked up the book from the charity shop and the chicken breakfast set for Ellis i found at the boot sale on sunday,my best find this week was a cream wooden rocking chair for a friend, that has been wanting for some time now and i only paid £5.00 for it and as my mum was waiting for me to pick her and all my finds up someone came and offered her £20 for it but she said no bless her,so my friend was really pleased,i will post a picture of it later.Hope the rest of the week goes well as the start of it.Take care~Kate~

Few pictures

My daughter-in-law was bridesmaid at her best school friends wedding in January ,it was a freezing cold day little Ellis had to wear a warm jumper with outfit.He wore the same tartan as his dad he was so sweet(i would say that)he was good in church his dad kept him quiet by feeding him pancakes,i looked after him while they went on to the wedding party and i picked them up the next day.

This is my 2 of my kitties i have 8, most of them live outside except when its snowing a lot and this day it was,so i discovered this 2 all snuggled up on my bed.The patchwork is actually a duvet cover i bought from e-bay,it was a quilt top but they must have decided to make a duvet cover i just love all the colours and it is all hand stitched i lie in bed and night and try to imagine where all the patches have came from the items of clothing,i think there are pieces from curtains, mens shirts , and ladies dresses, i bet they have a lot of history.I love old quilts i must take a few pictures of all the quilts i have collected ,one day i will have a post about that.

The picture below is a few more of my birthdays gifts,my friend pooky whom i met through the CS forum, gave me this lovely candle stick i just love the colour of it, and the little clothes pegs and the scented sachets all my favourite scents and the little birds nest for easter.The mohair bear was hand made by my prim friend Diane.The jars with thread and buttons are just for show.

I was so lucky on my birthday to have such warm and kind friends,the Grandma Memory box was also from Pooky as was the Willow girl i now have a few of these i love them.The cat sewing box was from another friend and the picture album was another gift from a prim friend.Well thats all for now hope you enjoy the pictures Take care~Kate~

My Christmas and birthday gifts i received

This is what it was like here this morning at 7.30a.m.It snowed yesterday from 5.30 until 2.30p.m,then it was all slushy,but during the night the frost came down and at 7.30 a.m. it started snowing is still snowing and its now 10.00 a.m so i am house bound for the day so i thought i would show you pictures of the lovley presents i received from my prim friend Diane from Wherefoxglovesgrow.blogspot.for my christmas and birthday which was on the 3rd of Feb.

Diane sprayed the basket gathered the cones and made the hearts and the pears i had been wanting pears after seeing them in Rondells home.

These are just a few of the goodies for my birthday a couple of panels to sew and a jar of pot cinnamon and spices for christmas. and heart tea light holders sory the pictures are not that clear.

I just love the heart holder i am going use that to hold picrures of my grandson,and i hope to find a nice house plant to go in the wire basket.Diane found the bells and tree in a christmas shop before christmas.Diane and i buy prim itmes when we find them as they are so hard to find here.

The halloween cat came from the states,Diane also mead the pear and i also love wooden bobbins.The little boxes are so cute i just love them to.

Diane sewed the cushions,made the sheep garland and the halloween stocking.

The green cat came from the states and she made the one with the red check dress, i can't wait to display all of my goodies at halloween time.

The cat was also handmade.I have been so lucky this christmas and birthday,i will post more pictures of other goodies i received from friends and family, i am so grateful to everyone who has taken time to make and put a lot of thought into all my gifts.Thak you to all my friends.Well i am of to shovel the snow from the steps.And i might even post again later.Take care~Kate~

Happy Birthday Rabbie Burns ~250years~

Today is Robbie Burns birthday all over Scotland last night and today we are celebrating the birth of Robbie Burns if you log on to Robertburns.org you well see lots of interesting facts about him and there will be translations of his work,even i struggle to understand the dialect.lol.Last night a couple of my friends went to a Burns supper, it was arranged by a local group of Scottish Country dancing ladies that a friend has joined.We were greeted with drinks and nibbles, then we sat down at our table the lights went out and this is a picture of the piper piping in the haggis he went round the tables twice.Then there was toasts to the haggis after that we all got haggis,neeps,tatties,and for the first time there was baked beans to have with the haggis so i decided to give it a try and i really enjoyed it,after that we had scottish cheddar cheese oatcakes, Tunnocks caramel wafers and teackes cakes that are famous here in Scotland, and after eight mints,and of course a few people toasted with good old whisky i don't drink so i toasted with water.A few people did some more recitals then it was down to the scottish country dancing it was a great night,sorry i don't have more pictures but my camera batteries went dead,a lady is going to send me pictures that she has taken so i will post them when they come.Hope you will log on the Robbie Burns site and see why we celebrate.~Take Care Kate~

Happy New Year From Scotland

Wishing you all a very Happy And Healthy 2009.My friends and i attended a hogmany party at our local hotel.This is the very first time we have done this we are usually found staying at home watching the New Year on the T.V,so we decided to book this back in the summer.It started at 6.30pm and went on until 1.00 a.m we had a great time ,this is a picture of the lady piper piping in the New Year, i did try and get more pictures but my camera was not working very well.

This is a picture of my friend and husband bringing 2009.

This is Hazel trying to work out how to blow up these balloons,every one had at least 3 each per person so you can imagine the fun that was had by all.As soon as the band started every one was on the floor dancing the Gay Gordons,Dashing White sargent,strip the willow and of course an eightsome reel.I was quite surprised we managed to do all the dances and not have sore feet the next day.The company was great everyone joined in and danced with other couples,so we are booking again soon.I will be posting pictures of my christmas, i know late as usual,i had the flu twice in December then had to go to the doctors on the 30th december as i had sinus problems and thank goodness he prescribed anitboitics.This is just a short post.Hope you are all well and looking forward to 2009.Take care~Kate~

More Halloween Pictures

More halloween pictures sorry i am late as usual,this top picture is of my 2 sons DIL and nephew all going out to a fancy dress birthday party on halloween night Diane went as cinders she made her costume from scratch,Donny went as General Custer( I think thats how you spell it if not my apologies) well thats what he says ,my nephew went as a jester and my other son was a canadian mountie,and millie the dog is just checking them out i wonder what she is thinking.LOL.

This picture is my little black tree with little pumpkin lights and other ornaments but i didn't get a good view of them,Ellis does not like this ugly witch he was so funny he wanted to hold her and when i gave her to him he frowned then threw her away.he was the same with the other witches and pumpkin dolls.

This halloween crow was made for my christmas from my prim friend Diane, she did a great job making him.Thank you Diane.

This is my fireplace with all my pumkins and candles .

Heres a better view, the trees i bought last year from TKMax along with all the other items on the mantlepiece.

Part 1 of my halloween decor

This is my prim basket of halloween goodies all presents for my birthdays or christmas some from e-bay and a few that have been handmade by my prim friend Diane.I Don't know if you can see the little pumpkin battery lights around the basket i just love them,the basket was a charity shop find find £1 my non prim friend asked what on earth would i want that for at the i did't know my self until my prim items came out at halloween and the little halloween sign matches .

My book case decorated with finds from TKmax and e-bay finds from the states and again birthday and christmas pressies,myDIL loves the pumpkin riding the penny farthing bike i do have a lot more halloween items a few heartwood creek cats and witches but i seem to have misplaced them.This year at TKmax there has been no great prim finds or candles the past few years have been great but this year nothing and all they had in was sparkly twee items so no joy there.

A few more pictures of the bookcase including the dust sorry.i was just so excited to show my prim halloween goodies.Lol.

I don't know why i have posted another picture of this basket but hey ho,this is part 1 of my halloween pictures i know i am late as usual but i hope you enjoy the pictures its taken quite a few years of collecting but thats all part of the fun.Take care~Kate~

Happy Halloween

This is the first snow of the year i woke up and thought its only been a hard frost over night but when i opened the door for the dogs the ground waswhite with the snow then we had a few heavy showers but it didn't lie thank goodness.

My cat Tykee loves to try and get in the pictures,next to her is a Noahs ark made of resin i picked it up from a garden centre called the Happy Plant centre they do have a few items that you could call prim, they also stock a great range of candles and of course they have tea room with lots of handmade cakes.
When i saw these towels and pot holder i just had to have them not beacause there are hens on them but the colours are lovely,and also my scented spice sachets this was the other items i bought from the garden centre,i hope to go back and buy a wrought iron plate holder with side plates that have the same colours as the tea towles.

This bunch of flowers were reduced a lot at the supermarket at night time ,they were £13 pounds reduced to £2.oo so of course i had to buy them.

Hi sorry for lack of postings,busy at work and home.This is a picture of some halloween goodies a friend brought back fromFlorida for me,i love the halloween soap dispenser and of course my pumpkin spice candle. Birthday Boy and Party

I can hardly beleive Ellis my beautiful grandson was one on the 1st of October.He had a birthday tea on the day but the poor little soul was poorly with a bad cold and cough which he shared with me .As usual the pictures are all out of order but i will try and tell you who they are.The 1st picture is of Ellis dressed as a bat for his big party on the Sunday as you can see he was enjoying his sandwich,the next picture of my friend with her witches hat on the other pictures are of the other children in thier fancy dress outfits.Diane made his dragon cake for the birthday tea then made another 2 for the fancy dress party, Diane loves to create as you can see she is creative Ellis is a very lucky boy.As you can see Millie the black lab was wanting to join in with Ellis to blow out his candle,as a lab looking for any crumbs that might drop she is just a hoover.lol.This week i have not been well even off my work with the flu so hence my lack of postings,i even couldn't go the the car boot sale how bad is that,but hopefully i will go for 2 more weeks then its time to call it a day until the New Year.The weather here has been very mixed with rain a lot of it at times then warm sunny days,our trees are just starting to turn i must take a few pictures.Well thats all for now.Take care~Kate~

My Latest Finds at the car boor sale

Hi,Just a few pictures of my latest finds at the car boot sale,i was lucky with the pumpkins, the ceramic one was only 50 pence as it had a small chip on it, the other one is made of resin and lights up in different colours,it really hard to come across halloween items at this time of year,you see here in the u.k its only just started to take off with all the outside and inside decorations,also its only in the last few years we started to use pumpkins, the children were given neeps(turnip to everyone south of the border)neeps are a vegetable thats used in soup and can be eaten with meat or chicken and last but not least its great on Robbie Burns night and the turnip is eaten with haggis,but i will post about that later.Every mother used to dread helping carve out the turnip as its really hard inside and a nightmare to carve a face on to it, then we all had to cut up a household white candle to go inside it, but it was fun.The other items i came across was a large glass jar that i hope to plant spring bulbs in,the paper stacking boxes i hope to paint time permitting.Then the star light fitting (my son hates that by the way but to bad i say)lol.will go in my back hall thats in the process of getting painted,the peg rack that will also get a makeover and the basket.The other goodies were a jamjar/pickle holder and ikea lampshade and a picture frame that i think could be used for something else i am open to suggestions,it has 2 small black clips to hold a picture,so any help please.Well thats all for now, its going to be a busy week for me my beautiful grandson will be 1 on the 1st of October so we all be celebrating as a family and no doubt taking lots of pictures.Take Care Everyone~Kate~

Hi.just thought i would share a few pictures of my family who came home for a visit.This is a picture of the cottage my brother rented for the week it was an old bothy converted to a holiday home.My niece loved these cows they were in the field next to the cottage and of course cows are curious animals they always followed you if you walked past them.The next picture is myself with my youngest brother and then my brother older brother.Oops i need my hair coloured and of course my darling borthers didn't take long in pointing this out so my appointment is now booked.lol.Of course i had to have one of my beautiful grandson who will be 1 next week on the 1st of October,the other picture is of my mum ,sons and niece at the beach it was not a nice day then, but for the past week we have had lovely sunny weather cooler in the morning and night but still great to go for walks.Sorry the pictures are all out of sorts but my other brother couldn't help with my computer as they had to go home sooner than they expected but i am not giving up hope to get this right.I will post pictures later of my latest finds at the car boot sale and a jumble sale i went to,it will soon be time to call it a day for the car boot sales but as my friend always asks do i really need any more .Lol.Take care~Kate~

I Have been busy honest

Where does the time go to, i can't beleive its been 2 weeks since i have posted, but i have been busy with overtime again at work and looking after a work friends 3 chickens and 2 ducks someone elses cat and last week i got a frantic call from someone saying there friend had let them down with walking the dog for 2 weeks at at short notice,ie 12hours so of course i said i would help,also i now look after Ellis 1 day a week so that keeps me so busy you just can't take your eyes of hime as he is now into everything.lol.This is a picture of him at his boggie babies its a singing class with musical instruments.Also i have made a couple of fall signs whisked u p a batch of the home made laudry powder and we just love it.Then i made some strawberry and gooseberry jam so i have not been that idle.The car boot sale has not been on due to the weather but i am keeping my fingers crossed it will by nice on Sunday,my thoughts are with everyones families that are affected by the horrible weather you have all been having i should not be complaining we only have damp and dull weather and our homes are safe.Will post later if i find any goodies from the car boot.~take care~Kate~

This was my very first award the Art Pico, that was given to me by Rondell at tomatoe-creek prims,Rondell has made me feel really welcome and introduced me to all you wonderful ladies in blogland,as i said before i am not good at graphics etc and i feel really bad for not doing this sooner. The other award I Love your blog was given to me by Merrie from wheretheblackbirdsings like Rondell ,Merrie has made feel welcome and i love her stories about all her doggies.My family are comming home in a few weeks time so i am going to capture my brother and sister-in-law and keep them until i can work this pictures and everything else out.lol.Since i have discovered all of the wondeful blogs about prim and everyones home life and pictures i have not watched tv at all and i can't say i am sorry.You are lovely people and i am so glad i have discovered you all.This is a few pictures of my car boot sale finds. Yes Diane this is yet another basket but its to put christmas goodies in,the stool will be rubbed down and painted,the chicken was given to me by my friend in Shetland its lovely autum colours so it will go nicely at this time of year,the napkins i will prim up.The socks were hand knitted by the lady's grandma and i only paid £2.00 and they are pure wool soft and warm.Thank you again to everyone who takes time to read my blog and leave comments i really do appreciate everyone.Take Care~Kate~

Car boot finds and prim christmas items from e-bay

The rocking chair was a bargain i only paid £4.00 for and the basket £1 I am thinking i might paint the chair black or barn red what what do you think i would be gratefull for all suggestions.

The feather tree and reindeer i bought from e-bay here in the u.k the reindeer is about 20" tall and i just love him and the tree of course i do love pinetrees.

The basket mixing bowl and scales came from the car boot sale this weekend a i also bought more wooden childrens blocks that i am painting and you will see later hopefully,that they will work out they way i want them to. For the past week its been busy as usual working family to see to and then the sheep farmer who has a field next to where i live asked if i would look after his 3 working collies as him and his wife needed a break, but the collies had to stay on the leads,that was fun you should have seen me all tied up but once they new the rules we got on fine, but its a shame to have working dogs on leads but at least they were safe.This is just a short post as i am of to the doctors to get the results from the scan that i had a couple of weeks ago.take care everyone.~Kate~

Prim Items from e-bay ..uk

At long last some prim items from e-bay u.k.This lady was having a huge clear out and i managed to bag these items, i missed out on primitive pears just like the ones Rondell won a while back, i was so annoyed with my self as i should have put in a max bid, but with all my problems last week i forgot.The pipberry tree was home made but it is well done and i just love the giraffe also the masson jar with rag balls And here are a few items i bought at the car boot sale on sunday.The red baskets will be great for holding cd/dvds or craft items and the blocks i thought i could paint, its a pity the were not all that dark red or blue,the chess board i am going to rub down and paint a deep red/or blue i will post pictures next week on watcha working wednesday and last but not least a whole jar of buttons i love buttons different types but i prefer older the better.Thats all for now as the slater has just come to fix tiles on my roof as we have had lots of rain the past 2 days and, yesterday just before my son went to go off to work night shift the rain was comming in my lounge just above the t.v so i had to dash of and find supplies to temporary fix it until today.Talk to you all later.Take care~Kate~

Birthday BBQ

Hi. everyone sorry i have not been posting a lot lately i have been busy with my mum who had a bad fall, and i am still working a lot of overtime.The other reason for not posting so much is i have been having problems with the menopause,hot flushes and terrible mood swings, and tommorow i go to the hospital for a scan to check my womb,so having to deal with all that my blog has been neglected,but hopefully i will be on track this week i have missed not taking part in things or catching up on the blogs. Yesterday it was my best friends birthday BBQ there were 19 people there lots of children and babies so it was quite lively.We had great food and cake but as usual you know me with my camera i deleted a few of the pictures.lol. so here are the ones i managed to keep.The first two pictures of everyone taking part in a an old fashioned sports day, we did an egg and spoon race,bean bag,three legged and the sack race we had such fun, it did make me laugh, i forgot what fun it can be doing daft things.The next picture is my friend who's 49th birthday it was with her first grandchild Lily Jean.The other pictures are of everyone having fun.Will be posting more on Wednesday take care everyone~Kate~

This is a car boot sale

Hi Everyone.I remembered my camera this week, this is what a car boot sale looks like, i hope it gives you an idea how it goes,people come get a car parking space,open thier car boot,have a large table for bits and bobs hanging racks for clothes and curtains etc.People sell all sorts of things chairs, tables,pine bookcases ,sideboards and even kitchen sinks .Normally its twice this size but i still managed to bag a few goodies.One lady was selling these empty picture frames for 50p i bought 3 i will have to buy some mounts and put in prints and change them with the seasons,this is a few pictures i hope to change not sure if i should paint the frames or leave well alone.The table cloth was a real find it is actually all hand applique should make a nice item for my halloween table.My friend who was with me found the cute jars with the unusual lids i thought they were sweet then i found the little cheese knives in a block and last but not least a beech plate rack.Hope you all enjoy the pictures there are lots.Take care ~Kate~

Well its Wednesday again over at Leslie's at my countryhome,Mind you i am late again its Thursday sorry.Ihave been working on christmas stitcheries for a while here are some pictures in progress hope you can get an idea what they are like.When i have enough blocks,they will make a quilt like the 2 pictures shown, they were made by my prim friend Diane ,Diane is the one who introduced me to prim, i wish you could see a lot of her prim makes, maybe she will let make a posting of her quilts,dolls and stitcheries.

The family are home now

The family arrived home on Monday safe and well from Australia.Myself and Ellis's other grandma were at the airport to meet them,my sons were laughing at us, as all we wanted to do was give our grandson lots of kisses and cuddles, then we remembered them lol.They all had a great time just a bit jet lagged and Ellis is cutting his top teeth so he is out of sorts.The pictures of us at the airport are while we were waiting for the baggage to come through,i am in the white t-shirt and thats his other grandma,we were taking turns to cuddle him.The other pictures are of this weeks car boot finds, i did take my camera to the car boot sale and take pictures but i mangaged to delete them lol, so i will take more next week.The reason i have not been posting as often i feel i should is work this month is so busy, and my mother has not been well and she needs a lot of my time.Hopefully i will be posting pictures later tonight on watcha working on wednesday.blessings to you all~kate~

This is the 4th time of trying to post, my computer is driving me mad!!!!Last week i was supposed to be upgraded for faster broadband and i have had nothing but trouble,4 times i had all the pictures everything all ready to post then it just switched off, okay enough of my moaning.Last week i was working on a couple of signs, this week i managed to finish them, i know they are not perfect but i like them.The next item i would like to try and stencil is a gameboard,i have the check stencil but now i need to find toppers and sides to finish it off.The other item i am just about to finish is this halloween strip quilt.When i was in my local quilt shop last year the lady had one on display and she told me they were quick to run up and i do so love halloween.I made one for my friend but didn't manage to finish my one on time but now this will be on time for this halloween. This christmas i am hoping to make a few strip for presents so i will keep you posted.Its great to do this watcha working on wednesday, it spurs me on to finish items, thank you leslie.Take care everyone~kate~

Dresser change and more car boot finds.

It is time for a change on my dresser,my friend always ask what i do with the items i buy from the car boot sale.Well since i have discovered blog land and see everyones lovely decor, i thought i would now have a change of items on my dresser and display all my lovely finds.Its really difficlut to find real prims like you have across there, but time permitting i am now going to try and make most items.The only store that sells anything remotly prim is TK Max and even then you have to make a few trips a week to get the best items.Halloween and christmas they have great items and i have been collecting halloween decor for a number of years now, i cant' t wait to show you all.Everything on the top of the dresser are items by heartwood creek ,the next shelf down are plates by Carol Endres i just love everything she does,the plates were an e-bay find here in the u.k.i sat at the computer for the last minutes bidding and won the whole set i was over the moon.The next lot of items on the dresser are all thrift finds even the lamps.The rocking chair was a carboot find and the cushions and the cats and doll was made by my dear friend pookie.Hope you enjoy the pictures.Will post later in the day watcha working wednesday later.~kate~

Car boot sale finds

On Saturday there was a village car boot sale and i just finished work and i thought will i or won't i go, but the urge won.When i arrived there was about 12 cars not big but i did find some goodies so i thought i would post pictures of saturdays finds and sundays.The curtains with the apples are wide and long and also lined, my friend thought they were awful bit i liked them they were different mind you i am not sure where they are going to hang yet. The picture frames were a steal, the lady only wanted 30pence each so i had to have them all.everything else was £1 and of course no car boot sale is worth going to if i don't came home without a basket or 2 lol.Will post more pictures of the week befores loot, i must remember to take my camera and show you all what a car boot sale is like.Take care everyone.Kate

Hope i am doing this right lesley.Last week i bought some nice blue wool from the car boot sale and i thought i would knit Ellis a jumper for the winter its a lovely colour of blue and it will match his eyes, so now i will have to complete it to show everyone, i am terrible for not finishing things but now i will have to so i can show you all lol.The other craft items i am working on is making some signs, i bought stencils from e-bay in the states, and i actually found some nice barn red paint at my local diy store.,and someone gave me pine wood that was going in a skip,my friend who is a non prim friend was laughing at me but i will show her when i have finished and i bet you she will want one lol.Hope the pictures are clear. Look what arrived through the post on Saturday from my new prim friend Anne from Southport England,lots of you will know her as Pooky from the CS forum.I met Anne through the forum and have been e-mailing for the past couple of months its great to hear from her .It was her birthday last month and i managed to find an old washboard Anne had been looking for one for a while and it was great fun to find lots of prim items for her and know they were greatfully recieved.On Saturday i came home from saying cheerio to the family before they went of to Australia and was feeling a bit low, but when i opened my parcel it cheered me up no end. hope you enjoy the pictures as i have loved everything Pooky has handmade these with love.Thank you POOKY.

Grandma is still not to good at posting pictures, this is the 3rd attempt at loading 3 pictures.so heres hoping this works.I am hiding from my mummy as i want to stay at home with my 2 grandmas and my dog millie.Oh no she found me, look what she does next.Well now i am nearly packed i should go.But don't worry grandmas i will be back soon.My 2 sons and dil and Ellis is of tommorow for 2 1/2 weeks to perth australia.i am sure it will pass quickly.Hopefully this will work this time.

Thank you Rondell for tagging me.Sorry for not replying sooner,my server keeps switching of then re starting you know what its like. No1 For my self 1 hour peace and quiet before the day starts.2.Catch up reading all my favourite blogs.3.Go to the car boot sales and jumble sales.4.Visit friends.5.Talk to family and friends on the telephone and talk as long as i like.next Things i have done for strangers.1.Gave money to a teenage boy for the telephone.2.Got help for a down and out that was injured.3 gave money to a young couple for bus fares who had to get home late at night.4.Gave a lady a lift home from the hospital as she was going to catch a bus,but i was going past her street.Helped an old lady with her shopping to the car.Hobbies.Reading,2.sewing.3.knitting.4.walking.5.Collecting eggs from my free range chickens. For Friends and Family.1.Always at the end of the telephone for my sons and family.3.Give my free range eggs to friends and workmates.4.Make jams and curds to give to my mums friends and my friends.5.Last but not least drive my older son to the pub at the weekends and even pick him up if he is lucky!!!! I know its not set out as well as everyone else has done but i am still learning. I was going to tag some of my favourites but they have all been tagged.Hopefully the next time my niece and i will have this all worked out.Thanks to Lesley's tips. Views From My Home

This week i must try and update my blog at least 3 times, i feel really bad as i so look forward to reading all of my favourite blogs.I am still trying to work out how to add them to my list,any suggestions would be grateful.The first picture is comming out of my back gate and going on to the moor, thats where i go every morning with the dogs for a walk there are different ways i can go and i will post them later.Sometimes if we are lucky we see the deer that is living on this side of the moor, thank goodness the dogs are too interested in chasing the bunnies and don't go after themThe 2nd picture is looking from my front window, this is a favourite of mine as i love the sea., i count my self very lucky to have such views and still live close to the town.,the other pictures are of the moor taken on Saturday night about 6.00 p.m .Last weekend i met up with my son and dil and grandson Ellis,then we all went of to the beach with dogs it was such a lovely sunny day nothing like to day its cold feels like the begining of spring,my grandson is wearing his new sunbands my dil was trying him to get used to them as they are going to Australia next week to visit some school friends, and i am soooo going to miss them all.Today at the carboot sale it was nothing to write home about , i only picked up a few items, i think the weather put a lot of people off from turning out,maybe next week it will be good.Thats all for now.Hope you enjoy the pictures.take care Kate

Where does the time go to . i can't belive its been a week since i have posted anything and i feel quite bad as lots of you post a couple of times and week, and i love to read what everyone has been up to.This weekend i had to nurse a poorly 5 week old kitten that was inj by its mum, it needed round the clock care, but sadly it didn't make it, thats thing about my job there are lots of wounderful stories and a few sad ones you just have to focus on the good times. The very first vet that i worked for gave me some great advice and it stayed with me to this day, try and think of it life short or long and take comfort that its been loved and given the owners the same love back, thats how i deal with any saddness at the end of thier lives, and its the best advice ever.My grandson now has two teeth and sitting all by himself,my dil thinks it won't be long before he is crawling and boy that should be fun .I am still trying to get the hang of posting pictures and today i am going to have a go and add some graphics, fingers crossed.As you can see still learning, need to talk to niece tonight for some tips.Thank you to everyone who has left comments, i really look forward to reading them.Hugs Kate

Busy Weekend

Thank you to everyone who left comments i was so thrilled that you all had taken time to look.This weekend was a busy one at work and home.Friday and Saturday was busy with emergencies thankfully all the animals are well and on the road to recovery.But the computer,printer and switch machine all played up so that took a lot of time,the telephone never stopped ringing,boy was i glad to get home.Then my son came in with his dog(black labrador called Millie who is the biggest thief for food) to stay over the weekend as they had birthday parties,golf outings and having a good time to go to.When i arrived home all the dogs were desperate for thier walk so it was of round the moor for a short walk, it was a lovely sunny afternoon so that made me feel lots better.After that it was off to the supermarket as i forgot to buy the doggies food and that wouldn't do.At night i met up with four friends to celebrate my best friend becoming a grandma for the first time, her daughter gave birth to a little girl called Lily Jean.We had a lovely time chatting and eating we went to a chinese and the food was great.Sunday i was up at 6.30 to give the dogs a quick run then let the chickens out then had to pick my mum up and head off to the car boot sale.The sun was shinning it was warm and there was lots of cars.I bought toys for my grandson an old wash board a set of baskets a mixing bowl made by TG Green an other old basket and 2 glass lanterns.But i could kick my self i missed an unusual lamp that would have been a great prim item, i stopped to think for 1 minute and someone snapped it up i was hopping mad, but as my friend says it was not ment for you.Well thats all for now. My first blog from Scotland United Kingdom

Hi to every one from scotland united kingdom.Iam so new to this, so if you can just hang in there with me while i find my way around that would be great.I am mother to two grown up sons, and grandma to Ellis James who is 7months old and my first grandchild who is beautiful handsome, thats what i tell him every time i see him .This year has been great for finding webshots pictures of all your lovley homes and now the bloggspots.You see hear in the north east of scotland no one understands primitive folk art or primitives.I only have two dear friends who have similar tastes to yourselves, and boy do we have a hard time tracking down items.Just a couple of years ago we discovered e-bay and all the lovley items we could buy from the states.The places to find bargains and old and worn items are at our local car boot sale which is held every week about 15miles away, so every Sunday my mum and a couple of friends head of at 7.00a.m for a couple of hours and come home with lots of bargains(well i do).The other places are charity shops and if i am really lucky the odd huge jumble sale that you have to rumage, but thats part of the fun i think.Still trying to work out how to upload pictures and when i do i will post my finds here.Well thats all for now i thought i would just try this out and see how i go.talk to you soon.Kate
